On July 24th, 2024, the new Pick n Pay Store at Crossroads Shopping Mall was officially opened by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Chipoka Mulenga. As part of the opening ceremonies, the Minister and his counterpart Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Mulambo Haimbe, toured the new store and made purchases, including a 25kg bag of Delicious Milling’s mealie meal packaged in Pick n Pay branded bags.
The Minister praised the opening of the new Pick n Pay outlet, noting that it has created new jobs for the local community. He encouraged the management to continue working closely with Zambian suppliers, particularly in the food and agriculture sector.
During the tour, the Minister was seen selecting the Pick n Pay branded bag of Delicious Milling’s maize meal from the store shelves. Delicious Milling’s General Manager, Mr. Peter Cottan, was present at the event but did not make any formal remarks.
“We are honored that our quality mealie meal, packaged in Pick n Pay branded bags, was chosen to be featured at the opening of the new Pick n Pay Crossroads Store,” said Mr. Cottan. “This demonstrates the strong partnership between Pick n Pay and Delicious Milling, and our commitment to providing Zambian consumers with the best taste and quality food products.”
The new Pick n Pay Store at Crossroads Shopping Mall is expected to be a valuable addition to the local community, offering expanded shopping options. Delicious Milling is proud to be a supplier to this new development and to have its Pick n Pay branded mealie meal highlighted during the opening ceremony.
